This 2.75-acre preserve provides a beautiful view of Carr Brook. There is access from both Cox and South Roads, and a very small trail system.
Luva Hoar donated the property in 1993/94 in honor of her husband, the General John Hoar. Luva once said, “This is a special piece of property, we loved to walk it. I just wanted to save it.”
General Hoar who was a decorated veteran of WWII. From 1952-59, he was the Director of Operations with the Connecticut Air National Guard. He was appointed Brigadier General in 1975, and he died in 1981.
Thanks to Eagle Scout Robbie Rosenthal, who made the signboard and chipped the trail.
