For the second year in a row, we partnered with Verisk Analytics, a data analytics and risk assessment company based out of Middletown, CT for their company volunteer day.

A group of 5 hardworking volunteers to do some invasive removal and trail maintenance at the Palmer Taylor Preserve last Wednesday, and it was the perfect Fall crisp day! Several volunteers worked along the Taylor Brook Trail to clear burning bush. They recognized the area immediately and were able to see the fruits of their labor from last year with all the maple saplings growing where they had cleared the area previously.

With their loppers and gloves, they went immediately straight to work to start lopping down all the burning bush.

Note the contrast in this photo. The green is all the burning bush and yellow are all the little maple saplings growing in the area that was previously cleared. The maples have a fighting chance against the burning bush!

Here is our dedicated group of Verisk volunteers who relentlessly cleared the burning bush. We can’t thank them enough!
