Exciting news for conservation in East Hampton: a cherished piece of the community’s landscape will remain undeveloped and protected for generations to come!
This spring, the Middlesex Land Trust completed the acquisition of approximately 28 acres on Daly Road, permanently conserving a property that has long been valued by the community for its open space. Formerly owned by the East Hampton Rotary Club Foundation, this property features mixed hardwood forest and a variety of wildlife habitats. Thanks to the support of our members, donors, and partners, this special landscape will now remain undeveloped and protected for generations to come.
The acquisition protects an important piece of East Hampton’s open space. Located adjacent to the Airline Trail and near our existing Sellew Preserve, the property strengthens a growing corridor of conserved land while helping preserve wildlife habitat and the natural character of the landscape.
What makes this project especially meaningful is the community support behind it. From the moment the opportunity arose, there was a shared recognition that this land was worth saving. Friends of Middlesex Land Trust, local residents, and conservation supporters stepped forward with generous contributions to help make permanent protection possible.
