Trail Accessibility Improvements at Highland Pond: Share Your Voice!

Following the completion of the dam removal and restoration of Sawmill Brook, the Middlesex Land Trust is exploring ways to make Highland Pond Preserve more welcoming and accessible. This includes the potential creation of a new parking area and improvements to trail accessibility.

We are specifically considering a universally accessible segment (designed for wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers) along the Blue-Blazed New England National Scenic Trail, where it follows the former trolley line through the preserve. Our goal is to ensure that everyone—regardless of mobility—can enjoy the natural beauty of this special place.

We want your input. Whether you personally experience accessibility barriers or simply care about conservation and inclusion in our community, your perspective will help inform our next steps.

Important Details:

  • Anonymity: The survey is anonymous. If you choose to share contact information for follow-up, it will be kept confidential and used only for project outreach.
  • Assistance: If you are vision-impaired or would like assistance completing the survey, please reach out to us at 860-343-7537 or info@middlesexlandtrust.org.
