The New England Fisheries Management Council (NEFMC) is considering an amendment to it’s Fisheries Management Plan to respond to “localized depletion of Atlantic Herring” in Southern New England. By protecting Atlantic Herring in these waters, the mixed stock River Herring would also be protected.
Please let the NEFMC know by June 25th that we need to provide the same protections to Atlantic Herring in Southern New England that are provided in Maine, thereby also protecting River Herring.
The deadline to submit comments is June 25th.
