Come join us on a walk to see the 147-acre property we are working to acquire as our new Meshomasic’s Rattlesnake Brook Preserve!

Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 10 a.m.

This property is located in Portland, adjacent to Meshomasic State Forest near Great Hill Pond. The 2-mile hike will feature the forest landscape, an abandoned granite quarry, and a 10-acre beaver pond.

If there is interest, we can take a group on an optional additional 2-mile hike to visit the Blue Blazed Shenipsit Trail and the Great Hill overlook, which offers views of the Connecticut River and Long Island Sound in the distance.

Participants should wear sturdy shoes and bring water and snacks as desired.

Parking is available at the end of Great Hill Pond Road at the northeast end of the pond.

For more information and to RSVP, please contact the Land Trust office at 860-343-7537, email info@middlesexlandtrust.org, or contact Hike Leader, John LeShane, at 860-342-0658.

We are fundraising for acquisition of this property. Find out how you can be a part of this exciting project!
