Join Doug Bonoff and Larry Lawrence for a three-mile ramble around the wood roads and trails of the Sellew Preserve, located along the south side of the Airline Trail in East Hampton. We will meet at the trailhead at the end of Dogwood Drive, located on the east side of Smith Street, 1/4 mile north of the intersection with Rt 16 in East Hampton.

The preserve includes some rough and rocky terrain but is otherwise accessible to average hikers. The main trail is a 19th century oxcart road that descended to a landing on the Airline Railroad. The hike will take in high bluffs above the Airline Trail, remote stream crossings, and artifacts from the railroad days.

Kids and well-behaved dogs are welcome. Bring water and snacks. Bad weather cancels.

RSVP is not required, but call or text Doug Bonoff at 860-670-8515 for directions or further information.

Sponsored by the Middlesex Land Trust and the Meshomasic Hiking Club.
